Join Alderman Pérez in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Alderman José G. Pérez and the Mexican Consulate invite the community to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a traveling art exhibit, TOMORROW Friday September 29, at Milwaukee City Hall, 200 E. Wells St.

The exhibit is called “Diego and Frida: A Smile Halfway Through the Journey.” The event will begin with a special reception in the first floor rotunda at 6 p.m. This exhibit showcases photos depicting the long loving, yet tumultuous, relationship of Frida and Diego. For every photo display there are a series of diary entries depicting history,
moods, and the politics of the time. Alderman Pérez says, “Frida was an icon of her era known, her image is a symbol of Hispanic pride and is known across the world. This event is an excellent way to celebrate
Hispanic Heritage Month.”

The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
